I'm a decent player (-4), but it's a lot of work. I've always felt like I was working harder then everyone else that scored the same as I did. I always felt like my move was not right. People compliment me on my swing but I've always felt like I was missing something. This was it! I worked on chopping wood for a few days and it felt great. The swing takes a lot less effort and the ball leaps off the face. I put the swing thought in play Yesterday in our club tourney and shot even par (72) for a tie for second place. First place shot a 71. All round I just kept saying, chop that wood! I only hit one bad shot, which was a skulled 7-iron. Not sure what caused that but I can't wait to work on the new swing feel more this week. That was the first time parring my home course. A lot of 73's but never 72. Thanks a ton!

I like all of your videos. Very helpful. How do I get the analytics on the iPad like you have? Thank you!

You forgot the 4th. Reverse overlap (overlap left index on top of right pinky). It provides the advantage of being more in fingers than interlock but more secure than overlap. It places club in line with last 3 fingers of right hand. It's helpful when middle fingers are different lengths to each other and club sits odd using other grips. The reverse overlap lines up the last 3 fingers better because of hand and finger shape and length.. This stabslizes the club, firms the grip naturally without squeezing and causing tension. The reverse overlap is not as free as the overlap but less tense than either interlock or 10 fingers. There have been a few pros that played reverse overlap.

Take a drink every time he says "Like the pros do." Gotta question though. Was that first shot a draw or a fade? It went to the right of initial path, but in the 2nd shot he called a draw also, that went to the left. Edit: Nice tips though. Will give it a go next practice round.

Love your videos, and you explain things very well and not long drawn out . I am struggling with my putting and my husband says I have no finesse, which he is right. I try, but can’t get a good back and forth tempo. Going to try the tees, maybe that will help. 🤞

Thanks mate, I have both a hybrid and a wood in the bag. I currently use the Wood off the tee but I find it damn hard to hit the hybrid even from good lies.

Great video. When I have my right hand on the club should the right thumb be dowmnthe middle of the shift orbe on the right side (small principle you showed for the left thumb)? If I keep the right thumb and forefinger pinched together on the right side of the shaft the club feels very unstable.

Hi Clay, Thx for youre videos's, its hard to learn but youre detailed video's make me better. Youre energy and presentation are also great and pleasent to see. I'm just an average player, play for a while but do a lot off practice since 2 years and went from hcp54 to 31 with little number of cards. Since im 49 i think thats ok. Ive got a lot off questions and things repeat in overlooking. But a main thing right now is that my checklist seems huge in mind. Then i have to start to swing but i have a problem with starting to swing, it takes too long to strike, like something holds me. Can you help me? Grtz Bas

Any tips specifically for into the grain Bermuda? I am a relatively good chipper but once I start having chips into the grain on uphill lies things start to go sideways. I can hit 10 balls from the same spot and not take a divot but once I get into the grain (Bermuda) especially with a uphill lie I for whatever reason can’t seem to get consistent shots. Some days it works better off my back foot, other days I have better luck off my front. If I can get my grainy chips better I’ll be in solid shape. The worst are the days when it’s a tight lie but it has that little air in it lol just some extra space for the club to grab in the grass. Class as usual 👍🏾

Alright alright alright. I have been focusing on my right elbow staying in and not get as high with my arms. I have felt like I am leaving meat on the bone with my drives. Usually topping out at 275ish but can hit it 300+ occasionally. This just might be what’s holding back that extra power. Can’t wait to try this out. Thanks! 🏌️

Clay, not necessarily to do with this video but wanted you to know that I, as being 58 y.o....with traumatic injury to my spine, surgery on my right rotator cuff, arthritic hip and not having golfed in close to 20 years.... I've pieced together a rag-tag set of clubs from Goodwill, watched many of your videos and spent about a month and a half going to the driving/practice range... I went and played a small local (Arizona) 9 hole executive course yesterday morning. The 1st hole was a 271 yard par 4....and drove the green, leaving a 15-18 foot putt. I 2-putted for a birdie!! Then, I parred the other 8 holes!!! I've never had a single lesson in my entire life and I've never finished under par...or close to it!! I just wanted you to know...don't take what you do with your videos lightly! Yesterday was one of the BEST days (and not just golfing) that I've had in a long time and your videos played a huge part in it and for that......I thank you!!
2 kun oldinTop Speed Golf - Clay Ballard
Congrats, Michael! Thrilled to hear of your success and overcoming your physical setbacks. Thanks for the kind words and keep up the good work!

my right shoulder disloactes so I must keep it tucked.
2 kun oldinTop Speed Golf - Clay Ballard
Sorry to hear that. Just do your best to compensate. Best of luck! Nate | TSG Instructor
Kun oldinRomaldo
I think you misunderstood that right elbow. You can still rotate your shoulder while maintaining the right elbow in front of the chest. You're showing a situation where the shoulders doesn't rotate. You can still rotate your shoulders AND have the elbow in front of the chest.
2 kun oldinTop Speed Golf - Clay Ballard
Thanks for sharing!
Kun oldinPaul Delphos
You are right, but some of us regular golfers, like me, have folded that right elbow immediately and have experienced exactly what Clay was talking about. Been doing his tips and lessons on the Top Speed Golf system and its helped tremendously. Clay isn't speaking to top notch golfers, but to folks like me....
2 kun oldinjonathan barnes
Hi, thanks for the advice, is this drill for all clubs or just the driver (the shallowing of the club & the flat right wrist takeaway)
2 kun oldinTop Speed Golf - Clay Ballard
This works for all clubs. Best of luck! Nate | TSG Instructor
Kun oldinblanche herron
(Larry San Diego) If you on a daily basis how many repetitions would you recommends if you have been battling this major fault for years?
2 kun oldinTop Speed Golf - Clay Ballard
I would try alternating between both extremes. Really squat down on one and then stand way up on the next. You'll learn fastest by going this route even if you're hitting them horribly. After doing this awhile, find the right amount of squatting and shallow club path to hit the ball squarely. Best of luck! Nate | TSG Instructor

How are you liking the Hazrdus smoke green pvd? Did you hit the Ventus black and what made the smoke green the winner?
2 kun oldinYoung Money Investments
@Top Speed Golf - Clay Ballard I was curious what made Clay choose it. No fitters have the Smoke Green in a TX around me.
Kun oldinTop Speed Golf - Clay Ballard
What works for one person may not work for another. I would recommend getting fitted to make sure the shaft you're using works for the driver you're using. Best of luck! Nate | TSG Instructor
Kun oldinDonny
Clay, I just wanted to tell you that I really tried to apply what you have taught about hitting the driver farther like using lag. I use to hit my old R7 driver 280 or so, I have recently put one in the woods at the driving range which is 323 plus. Thank you for all of you great videos!
