Bought something similar to this recently. I hit the mat further than the ball. How does this aid stay in place after impact? And it appears you are always hitting above your feet?

It has rubber spikes built into the frame that helps keep it in place. Clay addresses the difference in height from the Divot Board compared to the feet in the video. Not many shots on a course do you have a lie on the same flat plane as your feet. Being able to consistently hit the right spot on the Divot Board will translate over the course. Play well! I am surprised and pleased to hear you say its OK to strike a bit before the ball. Other coaches have told me the club must hit the ground up to an inch passed the ball. This thing is expansive but I think I want it.

Clay I’ve seen a similar product through Yt ads called Acu-Strike, but super similar in a mat that changes color like this but cheaper I believe

My intention wasn't to demean the Accu-Strike mat. It's a great product as well, especially for practicing chipping and wouldn't wear nearly as fast if used in this manner. Best of luck!

Great concept, but I notice that the board always slides and moves after hits and you have to keep moving it back into place. Are there any stakes that come with it to keep it from moving when you play on real grass?

Clay, I lay a 4' 4X1 board down where you have your ball tray and I then place the Divot Board on the board and it brings the Divot Board level to my practice mat. Great product - got mine a few months ago and other than getting a bit roughed up with lots of swings it really does help to ingrain a consistent face angle and low point in your swing.

I can see it working, but I would also add that you need to even your foot height to the board height ..otherwise your learning to hit 1 inch higher ..

Clay addresses this aspect towards the end of the video. Not too often when we're actually playing do we have a flat lie. The slight incline from the feet shouldn't cause any problems or prevent you from reaping the rewards of using this aid. Play well! Nate | TSG Instructor

I'm a TSG member and took the ball striking masterclass. It was good but I was hampered because I could only hit balls off a practice mat and a lot of the content, quite rightly, required you got feedback from your divots. I'm going to get one just because of that. I'll get serious benefit from it just from being able to redo the course again and I can see me getting a lot more benefit out of it. Just one more general comment @craig. I'm happy you are doing these reviews because though I don't know you in person you strike me as someone of great integrity. Too many "reviews" end up giving supposedly 1-10 scores in a safe range of 6-9. If you stand by your intention to give something you think is a 1/10 an actual 1/10 you will be doing golfers a favour. If you really want to go the whole hog on this then one simple rule to follow is as well as giving each product a score rank it against the others you have done. Just in a simple order, best to worst. So you end up with "Craigs all time golf aids ranking list" except rather than once per year its always up to date. Now there is only one product on it but after it gets to 20+ the cream will rise to the top and the **** will sink to the bottom. That forces you to make hard choices but the fact you have the guts to make them gives your list a lot more value.

I want to be fair with Clay, because I am a subscriber to his Top Speed Golf system and have gotten my money's worth out of that for sure. I watch almost everything he puts out. But... If you hitting balls on the range, or using any sort of launch monitor, I'm not sure how useful this would be. Everyone can usually tell when they hit the ball fat, thin, or when they are hitting the ball from outside in or inside out. And a launch monitor like Skytrak will certainly provide you all this information. The poster GV down below also reflects my thoughts on this. However, I think this would be a fine training aid in the following circumstances where you can't see your ball flight: if you are hitting into a net without a launch monitor where you cannot see your ball flight, or if indoors during bad weather, swinging with foam balls that won't cause damage to the inside of the house.

Clay, I see these "things" as a "cause and effect" relationship to my golf swing. It appears this "training aid" would cost me about $132 and that's WITHOUT TAX. Here in AZ you can add another 10%, so let's just say this thing would cost me $140. In my mind all this thing does is show me the EFFECT of a BAD SWING. NOTHING ABOUT THE CAUSE. You attempted to show us the CAUSE OF A BAD SWING, but to my knowledge you do this in MOST of your videos, which I thoroughly enjoy. I can SEE, KNOW AND FEEL the RESULT/EFFECT of a bad swing by the way the ball reacts when I mishit it. Poor swing path and face alignment are just TWO CAUSES of a poorly struck ball. I, personally would rather keep my money and utilize your tips on CURING bad swing elements than buying something that only shows me the EFFECTS/RESULTS that I already know exist in the innumerable elements of my swing. Thanks for your efforts. Please keep up the good work on your video tips for curing and correcting the CAUSES OF A POOR SWING!

this is a very easy way to see where is your swing going, it is a very nice tool. no need to record in slow motion or other stuff to try to figure it out. once you know.. you can try to change the swing path. but honestly i think it is too expensive

of course..if you can read your ball path then this product has little value for $120. but what if you are hitting balls into a net that you set up in your garage or backyard? how do you read the ball path without a $12000 radar? the key selling point of this board IMO is that it will work in that case, and even WITHOUT a ball. this means you can use it to practice your swing in your living room, office, etc.

My accustrike came apart after three months regular use. The front was always being clipped by the club head until it fell apart. Was a lot thinner than this though. Both (seem) to do the job in providing feedback.

Well, if you are going to attempt that, you can just peel off the backing sheet from the back of the replacement pad and stick it directly on the floor, but it wont last long that way.

It seems very small, accustrike seems like a better product. Is their much shock when hitting it. Looks like it could give someone an injury if overused.

I spent 50 euros on the accustrike matt when it first came out, and my friends son scratched lines into the felt with a tee that will never go away. 🤦🏼‍♂️

Sorry to hear that. While these mats are awesome for identifying what's going on in the swing, they're never going to last forever.
